I Have been searching on how I can potentially do this job myself on an 2011 M37. Has anyone replaced the mode actuators as the clicking is driving me crazy? My wife got in the car the other day while I drove her FX37 and she thought it was an insect in the car.

I've been around these parts for a while and I don't remember this coming up. You might be able to formulate a plan using the FSM that can be found in the FAQ.

Thanks for the post but it is for a Nissan Titan and I was looking to see if anyone knows how to do it on the M37/56? I went to the dealership and they said that is most likely what it is as they have had to do it on another M and it was upwards of $1200. I wonder if I go the route of going into the dash like when you replace the in cabin filter, I may be able to see and replace them. At least on the passenger side. I will see about the driver side.

Yeah. I knew it wasn't vehicle specific. But get you in the ballpark. Sorry it didn't help.

It seems like this is a known Nissan/Infiniti problem so I am surprised that no one else has experienced it.

I just started hearing a clicking noise that comes n goes from the dash area a couple of weeks ago. Researching online I kinda came to the same conclusion that it was the actuator. I also started hearing like a water swooshing sound as well around the same time. One of the Infiniti techs said I might have to purge the system of air if it gets louder.

For the water sound, yes. I had that in my car after the dealer did the timing chain work and that's what they did. I am under warranty so not sure of the cost.

Thanks Ilya, the dealer said it would run $149 to purge the system. Doesn't bother me too much yet, so I'll ride with it until it gets worse.

I'm having the same problem with my 2011 M37. It seems like the blend door actuator because the air on the drivers side isn't blowing as hard as on the passenger side. Has anyone attempted to fix this problem?

bumping this thread... so has anyone ever changed the air-mix actuator??? I found this service bulletin but it's for the Q50's. Doesn't seem too hard as long as it's in the same place as the Q50.

I'd be interested in this, as mine isn't clicking but that air flow isn't corresponding correctly to the air mode selected.
Oddly enough when I turn the venting to footwells only, I get air there, full blast.
but when I change to front vents and footwell, it doesn't come through the driver footwell at all. I'm not sure if it's the same result for the passenger.
Not to divert this thread, but has anyone experienced this?

Mine is all over the place! Hot air blows out the driver side vents while no air blows from the passenger side... but if I turn the climate control to dash/upper-vent/foot-vent then the passenger side blows cold. I can live with having the passenger side climate controls to those settings but I can't deal with the hot air coming from the driver side vents. All research leads to the blend door actuator for that hot air issue. Just not willing to go spend $1500+ at the dealer for $50 in parts (as long as I can do it myself).
