It's getting warmer so I'm going to fix my AC(1991 240sx). Rumor has it(from the past owner) the ac leaks so I'm going to start looking or leaks. Before I start I realized that when I push the ac button on the dash I don't get a light. Does this mean there is more to it than just a leaky system? I've got a few systems I can yank unleaky hoses and such from but wondered if the lack of light means I'm in for worse.

The bulb is just burned out. Nothing to do with your AC system.

Put some r34 in it and the light came back on but have something else to fill my spare time. AC ran fine, then I heard hissing coming from the bottom of my radiator. Came from the right passenger side of the radiator. Could feel air coming our about 6 inches from the side and 3 inches up, wasn't too cold(will probably get cancer in my hand now). Couldn't hear it from anywhere else, lasted about 15 min until the system was drained. Talking to a friend sounds like I need a new radiator, wondering if that is the consensus from the rest of you?????

Maybe it's just my car, but I have yet to replace a bulb in my hvac panel. The only time that little blue light did not come on was when my a/c sytem needed a recharge.Lately though I have noticed some oily residue around the nose of my compressor so I have a gut feeling that my a/c will be less effective and that little blue light will stop coming on soon as well.

As far as the other problem, I think you meen condensor core. I can not imagine it being all too cheap either. However if you do end up replacing it, you may as well buy a new dryer as well. It's about $40.
