AC impossible with S14?!

hey I am getting an s13 sr20det blacktop swapped into my S14 chassis. I have heard mixed thing about the possibility of AC. I live in FL, it is not even mid March and it is already 90 degrees...I NEED AC. Is it possible?

Yes, its possible. The only difference with A/C between the S13 with the S14 is the wiring. The S13 goes into the fuse box thing while the S14 a/c goes inside the car I think. (correct me if I'm wrong) Also, an S13 SR in an S14 body will have a conflict between the stock sidemount intercooler and the a/c compressor.

i know for a fact its possible. I have been in a 96 240 with an s13 blacktop and his ac works. I dont know any specifics on how they got it to work, because a shop did the swap for him.Good luck

I don't know any specifics on how to tell you to do it, but how the a/c compressor is activated is through a power signal. What has to be done is the compressor is connected electronically to the console controls. The console controls are connected to the ecu and ignition power. If your wiring from the ecu to the console is correct, then all you need to do is have the correct wire/s go to the compressor. You might want to look into wire schematics or call someone who knows, like Heavy Throttle.

Why not just run the S14 AC compressor on the KA mount with 3 bolts holding it in.....

Or is this ECU controlled....
