This is driving me nuts, and may simultaneously be the dumbest question ever asked. How the heck does the ac harness unlatch? (Working from under the car) I cannot see or feel any clips/latches (which I know much be there, but where) on the connector to depress and after screwing around for an amount of time I am too embarassed to admit, I give up.

Is there a spring wire clip on the connector? Sometimes those things are hard to see if they are covered in oil or road grime. Many of the Q's more critical connectors are designed this way. If there is a clip, it takes an ice pick to pop it out from the side. Just a thought.

I'm belying my nom de....

I had a friend help out and I can hear the clutch engaging. So I'm guessing my question is now moot. Which leaves completely baffled by the self/preliminary/tuesday/january checks in the service manual.

I have no ac. The self diagnosis (HA-40,41) is fine. The sight glass is clear. The low pressure pipe does NOT get cold. I can hear the clutch engage. And the AC went awry while I fiddling with the radio/taking it out (could be coincidence, just figured I'd mention it given if there might an obvious electrical cause that could be related).

Can somebody help me with a logical approach to diagnosis? Thanks.
