Couple of minor problems going on the '92 Q45. The electronic display for the AC won't come on for me (although my sister did mention it turning on a couple of times). Any ideas on where I should start looking to fix the problem? Everything still functions correctly, hard to adjust the fans and temp on a car you just got with no display though.

Also, power antenna is stuck in the down position. We still get okay radio reception, but I'd like to have everything functioning. I'm assuming the motor has most likely died out? Common problem at all?

WelcomeBoth these things have been discussed in minute MINUTE detail at least QUARTERLY over the 7 years I've been here. Especially thing know to have occurred since 1991.

First one needs to accquire a FSM and read the thousands of pages of how to just as dealer technicans are forced to do to solve many problems. Or skim a few hundred thousand posts, use our search engine, or check our how to section.

If you can hear the antenna motor running, then you need a new mast installed. If the motor is not running, then you need a replacement antenna motor assembly.

As far as the AC display, these often failure after a few years, either they do not display or they no longer control the heat & AC functions. A replacement control for the heat / AC is easy to remove and replace. First time will take some time, after that its a 15 minute job.

Replacing both the antenna and AC control is described in the service manual.

Hi and welcome to Nico

Regarding the A/C display, it's a common problem. You can buy a used one from eBay or you can have yours repaired through:

http://www.jerrytucker.net/

The antenna problem could be either the mast or motor, or even both. I replaced my mast with a new oem one (not expensive) and it goes up nice and smooth, but still sticks when going down and I have to turn the radio one and off repeatedly to get it to fully retract.

In case you don't have the factory service manual, you can download from here:

Long story short, 90-93 climate controls are all interchangable. I have purchased numerous ones out of junkyards and ebay when I can get them cheap. Most of them are bad. Interestingly enough the two working ones I have came from very early production 1990 models.

i agree about going with jerry tucker, buying a used one would be good for a core so you dont have to send the one in out of your car...
