Ok I know this is a Nico dead horse subject. But honestly I hate how stupid the search engine is on here.i type in "ac delete" and get nothing but "hicas/egr delete" threads where someone may or may not talk about the ac too.

So if any of you guys could help me find a write up for a FULL ac delete that would be awesome.

Ps: no the ac doesn't work, which is why I'm removing it.

Honestly, I have totally run into this too! And I'm sure I've been guilty of posting questions that have been more than killed already.

And to comment on this, I would like info on this too as I NEVER use AC and mine works perfectly.

Not sure of any full write up. But you need to discharge the system either illegally or taking it somewhere. Then pretty much remove all of the hoses and such pretty self explanatory really.

^^^Truth, ran into this when I went about my first repair which involved the A/C lines. The main beef will be in removing the interior stuff, but really it's only the A/C lines from the fire wall to the stuff in front to remove along of course with the pump and such on the engine, then the interior stuff. I think you can just leave any plugs you remove, or trim/cap back to the harness. Anyone knowing better chime in!
My only real question would be about the A/C belt after delete, and whether the idler would take up enough slack to keep the belt or if you ditch the belt entirely... :gotme
Keep us posted!

Ditch the belt entirely after removing the compressor. Removing the stuff inside isn't really needed. Just the stuff in the bay IMO. Only real weight savings was in the compressor the lines and condensor behind the radiator are all quite light

This is more about making everything easier on myself. So I want everything ac related in the engine bay gone. That way I don't have to work around it ever again

Alright. So does anyone know if it is worth it to remove the cooling unit from inside since I have my dash of anyways?

Well, since you already have the dash off... why not? Unless you decide to ever put it all back in at some point. You do live in CA, so AC might be kinda nice sometimes... The only thing with removing the interior stuff is you'll have to plug a giant hole in the firewall. Make sure to keep the blower motor and squirrel cage to use the heater and defrost function though. Unless, of course, you don't care about that either lol.

I live in Georgia now. And I don't even use the ac on my other car. So I think I will just take it out

Yeah I was going to say this... Then just remove the radiator and you will then be able to get to the condenser.
