AC CUTS OUT WHEN HOT

Hello all we have a 13 Rogue 80K runs awesome--The air is ice cold infact i took a reading out of the vents when it was 100 degs here today and it was 44 degs even saw a 39 at times! What happens is when we get on the road and drive say at 50 mph all of a sudden that cold air becomes warm for a minute then becomes cold again for a while very Intermittent.. I can actually hear the compressor cycle on and off when this happens.. Any ideas? BTW checked freon with gauge it was in the green which is good--Would not enough freon or to much cause my problem!! Remmeber the air is coming out ice cold at 100 degs outside! We live in AZ.. Thank you for any help!

That appears to be normal. On my 2015 Rogue, the A/C cycles like that. You notice it more in hot weather because the interior gets warmer faster than in mild weather. If you are getting the cold air when the A/C compressor engages, then I think you are OK. I have a Toyota Tacoma and it cycles like that, but it's not as noticeable probably because the cab volume is smaller.
