What do you do when infiniti doesn't carry the part you need?I have a 92 q-45. There is a black harness(clip) on the ac compresspor with one wire, well the other day i accidentally ripped that wire out of the clip (not on the compressor side, but on the wiring harness side) while putting in my alternator ( I know , it was all my fault ). I tried to put the wire back in the clip but theres just no connection and now my air compressor won't come on. I tried to get a new clip from my local dealer but they can't get it. I also tried the junkyard but no luck. Since i got a lot of help on the old board I thought you guys could help me with my next move. I need to get this fixed asap because we are in the middle of a heatwave (about 96 degrees and humid ) and I do a lot of driving. I would like do do it my self if I can, or should I bring it to my local car electrical shop? Any suggestions on what I should do?

I am removing the front of my 92 Q for a chain job. I will be down to the AC harness Wdnesday evening. I will post what I see and any possible solutions. Are you working with the electromagnetic clutch wiring? Sorry so long a wait, but that is my next available work nite for the car.

This might be your clutch wire. I had an incident a couple years back when a pulley seized up (driving back from an Infiniti dealership after they had replace all my belts), snapped the belt and sliced this wire within 1 inch of the compressor(clutch). I managed to strip enough insulation off the wire and tin it, filled a butt connector with solder of which I've already connected the other side, and slid it over the short stubby stripped wire (sounds easy, but it was a several hour job, over an hour just to strip the stubby wire!). It has worked ever since. At least until my compressor died this summer.
