The suffix on the part number just means a reman as opposed to new, the OE number is 92600-67U61. There seem to be a lot of crosses for it, 92600-67U01 seems to be a direct cross. This one on Amazon says it fits for $153:

Interesting.
This is the part number that is stated on my invoice from my tech that just today replaced my original
compressor ( that was making much noise), with this re-manufactured one.
Invoice price ….$910.00 for part plus, get this $610.00 labor!!!!
Guess won’t be going back to him.
Thanks for the info

Getting to the top back bolt was probably $510 of that labor. Was that with a full evacuation and refill?

Yes I believe so. Still…. on eBay the remanufactured one seem to be around $230.00, so I was guessing twice that price not 4 times. Wonder what a new OEM would have been.

My better half says ‘that’s it’! After 23 grand in repairs/maintainence since 1995, not a dime more.

OEM new is not available stateside, but appears to be available from Japan for about $900-950 shipped. I don't trust their shipping quotes, so that's the reason for the price range. https://www.amayama.com/en/part/nissan/9260067u61

Should you need more air conditioning work, I'd look in to a guy who has a Youtube channel I like. He can be kind of abrasive in his videos, but he really seems to know his stuff and he's in your area. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqCDCZ ... byxwNgus1g

He has a lot of videos where he's repairing vintage stuff from the 70's, as well as modern systems. When I was working on my 90's air conditioning last month, I asked a question on one of his old videos, and he answered it overnight. Seems like a really good guy.

That part number is for a Nissan factory part, and the $900 price is probably pretty accurate. The one on Amazon is not an OEM part, and is priced appropriately because it's quality and lifespan are not going to be comparable to the OEM part.

Googling the part number is always a great way to search for parts.

So are you saying $900.00 for the Nissan part is for new or a rebuild?

The part I got was def a rebuild according to my tech. I never quibble about labor charges as the SF Bay Area is known for crazy prices on everything

I don't think it's possible the quote is for a new part, both Nissan and Infiniti show all versions of the OE part discontinued. Even Amayama showed no availability. Nissan OE remans tend to price around half of new, so even for an OE reman (which also seems unavailable), $900 seems way out of line.
