I had my a/c compressor changed under warranty on my Sentra at like 60,000 miles. By the time I got rid of the car it had 150,000 miles and the compressor was going again. Perhaps it is this crazy Arizona heat, but I think the same thing is starting to happen on the Rogue. The a/c will cycle like 3 or 4 times while waiting for a single stoplight, and it cycles HARD...to the point where I get that shudder that others are talking about and the rpms drop to like 475, and then it corrects itself. It seems to be getting slightly worse over time, so I am definitely going to be making a trip to Nissan for a checkup very soon.ImStricken wrote:welcome to the forum!
i find it odd that your car's a/c compressor when this early. i drove a maxima and n altima 150,000miles+ and all original compressors. very weird.
i found this listing on ebay:

I am right there with you...always hot and not exactly a "slight" individual. Add to that my Irish/Scottish heritage and one quickly realizes that my body wasn't exactly built for the desert. They are saying 119 for Saturday....which is pretty friggin hot.ImStricken wrote:im a tad on the thicker side... and you know what, i noticed my rogue is always engaging the AC a tad on the hard side. i actually feel while driving on the highway.
i do know that improper refrigerant levels will cause this, and the A/C to wear faster
Yes, but that's a dry heat. Out here in the Mid-Atlantic region we get the heat AND high humidity. Sometime it's so thick you could cut it with a knife. Being an Ulster Scot myself I run my AC a lot, otherwise I sweat like crazy.Black B15 wrote: I am right there with you...always hot and not exactly a "slight" individual. I am paying close attention to the Rogue's a/c system due to the hard cycling that is occurring. This is exactly what my Sentra did...it would cycle hard and often putting a big load on the engine.
Only people not from Arizona use that terminology of "it's a dry heat". Although to some degree I do understand what you mean, having lived in the midwest through some unbearable summers.Rogue One wrote:Yes, but that's a dry heat. If you're going to the junk yard any Nissan vehicle with a QR25 would probably work from my assumption. Anything like another year Rogue, Altima, or a Sentra Spec V. I would check the connectors to be safe first. Possible that a picture with you. I hope this helps GLMrPotatoeHead wrote:Trying to find an aftermarket compressor for my 2008 Rogue(Clutch went on it). Will the compressor from other vehicles also fit in the rogue? This would help broaden my search!
Cheers!
I know what you mean. We don't get it often, but we do get it. You will see the sky getting darker like it is going to rain..and you can even see the rain falling from the sky. But often the rain will actually evaporate before it hits the ground, which just gives us the humidity without the rain which REALLY sucks. Every summer in Phoenix I contemplate what the heck I am thinking living here. Then December rolls around and I am quickly reminded.rdub2k4 wrote:I miss Arizona... I'm from the Tucson area originally, now living in Texas. The Humidity here kills me. I don't mind the 110+ degree summers in the desert, it's the 100 degree summers + 85% humidity that kill me here.
