The factory service manual says to disconnect the lower AC hose in order to remove the compressor once the mounting bolts are off. Do I need a special tool to undo that hose? Do I have to release the pressure in the system before I do that? If so, where.

Thanks!

be careful removing the pressure, the stuff they charge it with is very bad to inhale. and an adjustible will be fine for removing the hoes from the a/c compressor

There are 2 hoses that need to come off, which are held down with regular nuts/bolts. It's best to have an AC company stop by and evacuate it if you are environmentally conscious. If not, don't breathe the refrigerant that comes out.Are you planning on reinstalling another compressor or just deleting it?
