OK so no I have a question about the Ac compressor for the z cars. Mine is an 83 turbo and I'm not 100% sure that f the compressor is good or not. My question is will a compressor from a 77-81 work? If I have to change the couch it won't bother me. Just curious. The Ac currently doesn't work at this time but I know the clutch and compression r spin free and I will be doing a 134a conversion to her. Please let me know what you know. Thanks

factory a/c 78 cars are pretty rare and I couldn't tell you if they would work, I suspect they will but might require the complete bracket and or a/c lines Rockauto lists the 81-83 as a unique part (in stock $261), I'd be surprised if you couldn't make the 79-81 work again with a bracket and or line swap.

Appreciate the info but unfortunately I couldn't find the compressor available from rock auto even tho they show it for the 81-83. If anything the only thing I see different is the older modle has an ear missing that isn't mounted to anything. I'll see what happens with the one I have and if need be I'll get the one for the 79-81. Just as curiosity how would you remove the clutch? Is the tool Nissan particular or does the aftermarket have a tool available?
