AC Compressor Brackets

Will a SOHC AC bracket fit a DOHC motor and vice versa?

This would help me a lot since I was wrong about using DOHC AC lines on a 89-90 with a 91-94 motor. The lines dont bolt up to the car side at all.

So since the blocks are almost identical, I was hoping the SOHC AC bracket would bolt on a DOHC motor to make my life cooler and easier.

Pretty sure it doesn't.... I ran into the same problem. The dohc bracket is lower on the motor.

"You can always go and make a custom bracket" which is what people tell you. If you can find a way to do that or if anyone has please make another, as I will send you money for it.

Yup, it doesnt work :-(

It does bolt on, but the power steering pump and bracket is in the way. Plus, like you said, because it places the compressor higher. So you can do one of two things, ditch the powersteering and put the sohc bracket and compressor on and get a smaller belt OR make a custom bracket. Which looks like I might be doing.

be nice if there were lightweight aluminum replacements for all these little brackets wouldnt it. that things heavy

Sure is.

Anyway, good and bad news. Good news is, I had the AC bracket left over from my CA18DET. The top 2 bolts on the bracket line up fine and clear the PS pump, since the CA had the PS pump on the drivers side. AND the sohc compressor bolts up to the bracket. Bad news is, none of the pulleys line up, so the belt wont be perfectly straight. So back to sweating my *** off.

Thanks but I already have a KADE AC compressor and bracket on the motor. Just no lines.

Im going to try to get dohc tip put on the sohc lines. Thats my last option.
