My air compressor locked up and the belt broke, we got the belt broke, so now the car is running on 2 belts.

I have not driven it since the belt broke but need to take it in to get fixed (The shop is pretty far away) how bad is it to drive the car on just the 2 belts and not have the ac compressor belt hooked up?

one of the other belts was squeeking when i garaged the car

All that will happen is you dont have ac, thats all. It doesn't run anything else that is vital, just the ac. You will be just fine.

Believe it or not, your engine will actually work better without the A/C belt. Faster revs due to less rotational mass. No A/C wouldn't really bug me, as I usually roll around with the windows down (even in 115* Lemoore heat). But most people wouldn't be able to stand it.

I'd be really surprised if there were a difference. The AC pulley is operated on an electric clutch, so it's not always engaged. When it's on, sure there's a load, but without it being engaged I'm fairly certian the difference is negligible

There's still the mass of the pulley itself..... Yeah, I got nothing. :P
