no, the only similarity is that both use a butterfly valve to change back pressure. this doesn't release the air outside the exhaust like the cut-off. it increases the back pressure to limit noise. it' totally autonomous and it has 3 way of working, either by checking your speed, rpm, or smart mode. there is a master switch incabin that can overwrite it so it stays fully open for track use. best is to read the article I postedHussain wrote:isnt that basically like the electronic exhaust cut-out i have on my car? looks really similar.... do you have to open it or does it open on its own when it hits a certain RPM?
