Whats up guys I'm new here and I joined this forum specifically for this problem. I recently purchased a 2002 Inifinti i35. I love this car but I had a little squeaking with the brakes so I took it to SEARS (I know probably not the best choice but it was convenient at the time). They conducted the regular 21 point inspection. I thought that i need new brakes or rotors but it turned out that I only needed to have them refinished. Anyway they claimed my ac belt was ribbed and I figured I'd let them fix that since the repair was less than my estimate.

I took my car and it worked fine till the next day I started hearing a squealing noise. I took my car back to sears and the technician I talked too said he didn't know what it was. I decided to take my car to nissan, I figured that it might be a serious problem. The technicians at nissan said that my replacement belt was inferior and that was the cause of the noise. I took it back to sears and they looked at it and ended up tighten the belt. I left with my car and the problem returned. I'm taking it back one more time and then I will be requesting a refund.

**Has anybody had this problem? Does the i35 use a special kind of belt. The technician over at nissan said they would have replaced it with a nissan belt.**

Welcome to NICO!

I only use OEM Nissan belts or Gates belts (manufactured by Gates rubber and commonly found at NAPA stores, but ask just to make sure that is what you are getting).
