I will try-- Our cars do have abs and if you have abs then you have a VLSD. However you can wire the abs up all day long there is nothing in the ecu on your jdm s13 s14 sr20 whatever ecu to control it. So things like cruise and abs as well as safelite glass does not come on silvia's sold in japan. That is USDM 240sx things along with that dam paperweight KA motor which never dies but hates to rev. So does this help?dan222000 wrote:Can anyone help or shine some light on this one?
are you talking about a KA or SR --- the SR20DET put into Japan Silvia's do not have cruise control nor do they have ABS. If you can rig it up to run the wires to the abs actuator motor there is nothing in the jdm ecu you have to control them. I run z32 brakes like I assume most everyone does and the abs while wired correctly it does not engage and I sent my wiring off to Yuri at wiring specialists and had them done. Even if you wire them up they will not work because I believe the ecu controls this feature.dan222000 wrote:Shift_SRDETuser,I have totally separated the ABS wiring harness from the KA wiring and there are 5 wires that lead to the ECU. Three of the wires are thick gray shielded wires and two are regular wires. Must these wires be re wired? Or are they eliminated? The rest of the wires go in to the dash harness which in turn goes to the ABS control unit. Do you know which wires I need to run to the ECU?
Thanks,Dan
then take a KA fsm and trace the wires that should work. I like not having ABS anyway on my z32 brakes but if you want it then I guess it could be done. The SR harness will not have wires for it though and you will have to run them yourself.Seishuku wrote:ECU has nothing to do with ABS or ASCD, those both have their own control units.
ABS and ASCD does however share the same speedo signal that comes out the gauge cluster, which is a required signal for both to work correctly. In addition to the wheel/diff sensors for ABS.
will they work with z32 brake calipers and the mc of an auto 240sx? I would like to trace the wires and see why my abs is not engaging? Just to know how to do it. I do not know if abs is something I want to run on my 340whp car but it might be neat to see how it handles differently.....Taylor_Durdan wrote:we spoke on the phone today, but ill go ahead and post.
anyone that says the ABS cant work doesnt know whats going on. i have NEVER had an issue with ABS working or not.
everytime, all the time my ABS harnesses worked.
I quess I need to call yuri -- I paid for the abs to work (his package) and yes I have locked my brakes up before.... it sucks.sidetrack9 wrote:i meet Yuri when i had to get my wireing done and he told me to do something with the abs wire (dont ask cause i forgoet) but it's been working properly for the past 4 years n saved my a$$ a few times
Seishuku is exactly right just take the plugs for the abs unit and separate them from the KA harness and wrap them into the SR/RB harness. It's that simple but its an extra pain to do cause it's nasty and wrapped up in a bunch of wires.Seishuku wrote:ECU has nothing to do with ABS or ASCD, those both have their own control units.
