Hi folks, I am a newbie to this site and I hope someone can give me some help. I have an 02 Q45 and my airbag light went on. I believe it was after I was in the car and tossed a heavy binder onto the passenger seat. Not sure what happened but is there a way I can reset this?

Same car, my ABS,TCS etc lights came on (not at the same time). I have so many warning lights on the dash it's not funny. I went through this with my former 97Q, which the dealer informed me the TCS part was around $1800 plus labor! Needless to say, that car was sold and I bought the 02. Now I am having the same issue. My problem is that I know have three cars and the Q has to go but I won't be able to sell it the way it is. My Ex is going to Europe and I am getting my 07 Pathfinder back from her.

This is my sixth Nissan / Infiniti. Had a used 86 Maxima (sold with 130k), New 92 Maxima (traded with 80K), New 98 Pathfinder (sold with 194k), New 07 Pathfinder LE (71k), used 97 Q45 (sold with 245k) and lastly the 02 Q with 132k. I certainly believe in the product although I am disappointed with the problems I'm currently having.

I certainly appreciate any help anyone can give.

Welcome to NICO.

For the SRS (air bag) light, below is an abbreviated procedure to get trouble codes and reset the SRS light.
1. Turn Ignition Switch to ON.
2. Wait until the SRS light comes ON *@ 7 secs) then Switch to OFF within 1 second.
3. Wait at least 3 seconds
4. Perform steps above 3 times (3 ON/OFF Ignition Sw cycles)
5. Turn Switch to ON to enter DIAGNOSTIC MODE. A series of SRS flashes indicate trouble codes.
6. To reset SRS light, turn Ignition Switch to OFF, wait a few seconds and then back to ON to enter USER mode (normal).

For the warning lights, it could be an indication of a failing alternator. Check your battery connections are clean and tight and battery voltage is > 12.5 VDC with engine off. Check battery cables and alternator harness for any short circuit or short to ground. With engine running, check alternator charging voltage is > 13.8 VDC and steady (spec is 14.1-14.7 VDC).

If battery, alternator and harness are good, then perform ABS-TCS fault isolation procedure us8ing the built-in diagnostic, starting on page BR-41 from the link below. All you need is a long jumper wire between Data Link Connector and chassis ground.
