This weekend, I replaced the front struts and brake pads on my 98 Q45. When I started the car afterwords, the ABS/SLIP/TCS lights all came on and stay on while driving. The car drives and brakes fine. Anyone have any ideas what could cause this?

Sorry to say, but unless you disconnected the ABS sensor harness on the front strut and removed it intact with the strut assembly, you most likely damaged the sensor if you tried to remove it from the hub assembly. If you damaged the sensor(s) you will have to purchase one from the dealer. I had to buy one until I furgured out there was no way to carefully remove a sensor that was corroded and stuck in place without damaging it.

Hope that helps, but sorry for the bad news.

As a matter of fact, The sensors were difficult to remove and i had to bang on one of them a little to free it up. The diagram I was using called it a speed sensor though. Same thing?

Correct. Speed or revolution sensor, located at teh rear of the hub. If you had to "bang" or pry on it, chances are you damaged the magnet or the wires attaching it to the magnet. Did you have to bang on both or just one? If you only had problems with one, then order that one, but if you had problems woth both, you may have to fork over more $$ and buy both. When I bought mine, I think it cost me $170 (ouch!!). When you go to install the new ones, make sure you apply a little anti-seize on the inside housing and the on the sensor to make it easier to remove in the future.

Good luck.

Thanks for your help. The manual I was using made no mention of this. I really only had trouble with one of them, so I'm hoping for the best!
