ABS Self test?

Howdy folks,

I drive 2011 Nissan Rogue. I noticed that there's a thudding or thumping from underneath the car through the floorboard while driving in reverse and turning the wheel at the same time. This seems to happen when the car has been sitting for hours. Was wondering if anyone had this same experience? I have seen some discussion about similar symptoms being attributed to the ABS self test but my question is, do you actually feel something through the floorboard (not the brake or gas pedal) when the ABS self test is happening?

Hi there, yes the ABS self test can be felt as a "clunk" through the brake or gas pedal, however if this noise occurs when turning the steering wheel I'd guess that this is not the ABS self test, but more likely a front suspension component such as the strut bearings.
