I was having the usual issue with the abs relay, the humming sound, that would reset after turning off the engine and tapping the abs relay mounting. I replaced that relay about four months ago and no more issues. 'Then shortly after the accident I noticed the sound again.

This time it occurs each time I start the car. I hear a sound that sounds like my vibrating phone, it last for about two seconds and does it maybe ten times.

Then the yellow lights come on or not. I am not sure what to do to fix it, should I replace the abs relay again or is this a sign of a deeper issue?

PS. After looking around and seeing the current cost of used Q's, I decided to fix my Q45, it runs too nice to trash it. I took it in on Tuesday to get all the body work done and whole thing painted.

Try replacing the ABS relay again and rule that out. But I some how doubt that's the problem here. Trying a mechanics stethoscope will be hard in this case but not impossible.

I would guess that your problem is something that was damaged in the accident... a sensor, a cut wire, a harness left unpluged, something like that. I believe there is an ABS test you can run described in the FSM. It should point you in the right direction...

The ABS cycle tests system at every crank, so relay usage depends on number of trips per year.

Failure to use oem soft fast wearing [160>200 index] tires will obviously increase ABS usage [relay wear].

Fialure to flush/replace brake fluid frequently will allow it to change it's viscosity outside the as new parameters.

Since most insurance policies have a discount for working ABS system failure to maintain could be Insurance Fraud if you have an accident and they pay a claim. If air bag tries to deploy or does they have a record that ABS wasn't working permanently inside air bag computer system.
