This is something i noticed driving home from New Hampshire on Labor Day weekend. If i step on the breaks, mostly at high speeds, my Armada shakes like crazy. It feels like the break rotors might be warped. Is it warped rotors or is it just the ABS? When breaking at low speeds, however, It feels almost normal. Thanks for any input.

NEVERMIND... I was at the Nissan dealer today and they said that my front rotors are warped pretty badly. I need new pads in the front too. And to get ONLY front breaks and rotors... It's going to set me back nearly $800

I was going to say it sounds like the rotors. Not nearly as much of a problem as it was with the '04 and '05 models.

Thats strange because my '08 seems to have problems that were supposed to be resolved in earlier models. The drivers side window rattle (which i still have yet to get fixed) and now the rotors.

Do yourself a favor and use purchase some decent aftermarket rotors! Nissan/Infiniti continues to keep using cheap rotors that warp to easily.

I have an 06, got it with 23K on it and the rotors were already warped.

Breaking at high speeds it's pretty bad but for city driving not all that noticeable. I'm going to see how long I can go before I get aftermarket ones with pads.

I still have a lot of break pad left though.

Is your QX56 still under warranty? They should not be warped that quick, I know they had a problem with the '04's and the '05's, but I wasn't certain on the '06 models.

Hey I'm a newbi here at the forum but not to the driving experience! With that said and not pointing to anyone in particular, many people need to check their driving habbits. What I mean is many people drive with two feet, one on the brake and the other on the throttle. I'm sure you have seen it. This causes premature brake ware and is probably the leading cause of over heating the brakes which in turn causes the rotors to warp. They can only absorb and disapate so much heat. Now if one finds the need to purchase after market brakes be careful where you purchase them, nothing like getting out of the frying pan and into the fire! I have found that Napa sells quality after market brake rotors. I haven't had to purchase them for my Armada but I have for my 91 Toyota 4 runner. Toyota wanted $200.00 per rotor and I got them at Napa for much much less! If I remember, somewhere in the neighborhood of $60.00 each.

I only drive with one foot and i usually don't need to break very hard. Im ordering new rotors and pads and putting them on myself beacause thats the cheapest way for me to do it. And yes, i do know what I'm doing.
