The ABS and SLIP light came on, but didn't notice any difference in the way the car (97 Q45) drove. The Nissan dealer told me it was an ABS Hydraulic Motor failure. A $2,050.00 fix. Any alternatives? Is the fix essential?

If your ABS pump failed, you could just get a used one... usually a good bet.

You dont have any ABS right now, but you are still safe to drive the car without damaging any components until you figure out a repair strategy.

First failure I've heard of other than on the earlier 90-93 Q45s - and those still work, they just leak. So to echo what Wes said, used is a very good bet in this case. Check out http://www.car-part.com
