okay, had a leak in my ABS unit so i swapped my other one in there and now the light kicks on after i hit 15 MPH. ABS will not engage even on a dirt road, bled the brakes, checked all connections/harnesses. Gotta get my FSM to ddiagnose it. Anyone ever had this problem?

If the ABS light come on check for the code. I think ABS computer inside the trunk. Make necessarry repair, see if that fix. Below is the intruction how to read ABS codes.

Note:Module may need to be removed to expose LED. However for modules in the boot side finisher, there should be a small hole which can be used to access the LED. Only one code is stored at one time. to get next code, repair and retest1 Drive the vehicle faster than 30kph for at least 1 minute.2 Leave the engine running.3 Read codes as described in the Code Format Description below.4 Press the continue button to enter the code numbers and get the code description.Code Format DiagramCode Format Description• Only one code is displayed at one time.• The code is a straight count of flashes, 5 flashes represents code 5.• A long pause separates each repetition.

Code No.

The light coming on means you failed the self test. When I replaced the one on my old Q I found that I put a fuse in the wrong slot. I'm not sure why I was messing with that - but my point is that you're probably not getting 12V to the actuator. Perhaps a harness that is unplugged, or a bad relay in your "new" unit, although they usually fail stuck "on" instead of off.

When i had the unit im running now in the other car i came across that problem as well. The abs unit would stay running to the point u could actually hear it humming after the car is off. Had to uinplug the battery several times to stop the motor but it only happened randomly like 1 out of 10 trips. Still havent figured the light out.

Also has a slight bucking and stalling when it isnt warmed up yet. Im thinking MAF ?

The ABS running after the car is off is typically a bad relay under the black box on the ABS actuator.

Bucking could be any number of things... MAF, fuel pump or it's control unit, possibly knock sensors, dirty intake, wrong/fouled plugs, the list goes on and on.

Checked knocks when i did my plenum work. Transfered my fuel pump from the old car that only saw 5k miles maybe. Did the plugs during plenum job as well. Took the MAF out 2 days ago and it was quite dirty, cleaned it but no success resolving the bucking. Didn't buck this morning and it was kinda cool out low 50s or so. I broke the MAF from my other car removing it, plastic just cracked and came right off when i did my swap so i had to use the one from the new car. Engine ran perfect in the other body so im kinda leaning towards the MAF. Also it only bucks from like 1k - 2.5k RPMs. The ABS issue isnt really a big concern. The light only kicks on after u hit 15MPH. You dont even need to hit the bracks it justs pops on.

UPDATE: okay, the bucking was the MAF. i melted the other one back onto the cover of the air filter piece there since it was broken. No more bucking. BUT, now my brake light is on but very dim. ABS light comes on ASAP when i start the car but when i rev the engine past 1500 RMP it goes off and comes back on at idle sometimes...... or it comes on when i drop it into gear. Seems to only come on below 650 RPMS or when i drive at 15MPH or faster im lost here.

The ABS light and brake light double as "low voltage" warnings on the Q (and most Nissan products) - time to check your battery and alternator.

If you have a multimeter. a quick test is to see if you're getting roughly 14.4VDC at idle, and 12VDC when the car is off.

Forgot to post that the onboard computer says low battery charge occasionaly when this happens. Alternator is like the only thing i havent replaced on the car. It starts like a champ everytime though. I work 3rd shift and this morning it started almost instantly. Ever since my plenum job its started almost what seems like too quick. So should i try swapping the battery for starters?

12.60 volts is a fully charged battery and 12.00 is an almost totally discharged battery. PRECISION ACCURACY is needed to make a meanful test.

battery is fine. Brake light came off. Pushed the Ebrake in before i started it and came off when i released it. maybe it was just sticking. ABS light comes on again at 15mph still. Wont have time to look at it untill saturday. Having some starting issues now
