I just typed out a whole scenario and watched it vanish. Long story short my #5 &6 injectors simultaneously failed today. This after a hard 8 days and 300 miles of city driving (after my trans job)

Car was running fine one minute and missing with cel the next.

Code 51 after testing them. all in sec except these two.

Is this possible or are they somehow linked (as a pair maybe) to the same circuit

I'm planning on 2 new injectors and a day with my fan

Say it aint so

They are linked by a harness which is where they get there power. But they are also linked in the fuel rail as well. I sugest you test all the injectors hot and cold then report back the results.

But thats sucks and to add to it they are xome of the hardest ones to take off.

It ain't so....yet. What were the readings on the two suspect FI? Measured hot or cold? Daily driver?

My 94Q sits for days at a time and developed a miss a couple of months ago. Two of the injectors are ohming in the high 14 range but a bottle of Redline S1 injector cleaner in 1/2 a tank of gas cleared up the miss in a day.

Redline won't help. You've got two dying injectors. They'll be going straight line soon.

What are your resistance readings after the ohm test on those two?

In my experience, they tend to fail in waves, so I wouldn't read too much into two failing at the same time. If they're reading open or very high it's likely that they have been trending upward (in resistance) for a while and you just didn't know it until the miss showed up.

Calling a 16 year old injector failure abrupt............is very strange!

So far in 19.5 years I've had 4 fail but expect to replace 4 more this summer to be efficient about it.

The gasoline flows into 8, then 6,then 4,then 2 then crosses to 1, 3, 5, and finally 7 before exiting the engine compartment.

For the past 12 months I have been sampling the gasoline I buy. I bring along a plastic gas container and put a gallon in it then I put 8 ounces in a sealed glass container with a one way pressure vent.

After 1-2 weeks it separates into 2-3 distinct layers.

The point is don't leave much gasoline in your Q tank and use it and refill frequently.

I have some 2 month old samples that are extreme.

All this started from buying new weed whacker every year and rebuilding lawnmower carbs frequently.

Post 9-11 gasoline was bad but the current product is pure real serious JUNK!

Time to fill up and sample today.

Can newer cars (like 08 G35) handle it? Or will all cars start having fuel-related problems sooner or later?

Modern returnless system don't expose injectors to the gross excess of fuel required to regulate PSI, so just exposure to 1/3 less has benefits.

Also any water that makes it to rails must be driven thru injector and not returned to tank.

As Georgia has only seen E10 for ~~ 15 months I'm sure we'll know in a few more years.

My injectors have been replaced in the last 8 years. I try not to leave much gas in the tank for a long period because I too have seen the effects on my weedwackers mowers 4 wheelers gens etc.

When I do fill up I try to get to a mom & pop (NO Ethanol!)

Did you test them with the ignition on? It's unlikely they would all fail at once although I've had it happen on a 1990 before. Your car would not run or start if more than a couple were bad. You also might check your fuel tank and filter for sludge and water.

No, ign was off ('94). This was after a fresh tank and a half. It was basically an injector from each side.
