Has anyone switched to a bigger throttle body on a sr20det, and what modifications did you have to do. I already have a greddy intake manifold. what else would i need to use a q45 throttle body and would i have to modify the manifold.Thanks.

I dont think you have to modify Greddy intake mani to house a bigger throttle body.

wait wait wait....have any of you actually SEEN a Q45 throttle body?????!!? it's MASSIVE and there's NO WAY it'll fit the greddy manifold without modification. We're talking 90mm here, not the little baby 55mm or whatever the stock one is. I think greddy makes a special manifold in japan that's made for the Q45 TB, but the one most of us have just won't take it without some serious modification.

Unless you're pushing over 400 horse, you have no need for a larger throttle body. : )

Ok. So its a little to big, is there any other type of throttle body that can be used. I want to make a good 350hp @ the wheels.I have a Apexi FMIC, Apexi Dwn pipe, Blitz turbo exhaust ,Turboxs MBC, Greddy intake manifold, skyline gtr fuel injecters, 300zx turbo fuel pumb, s14 engine, also plan on getting a power fc, and having it dyno tuned, also have a ACT clutch kit.will that cut it close enough @ 12 psi.

just a little note:i didn't see you were talking about THAT massive tb. I ment it in general, not about Q45 tb.

upgrade the turbo, maf and injectors and manni and you'll be there easy. Other than that with your set up you'll be at about, and you have the t28 I assume, so about the 300 mark pushing it. Safer 280 or so but its all tuning. Good tuning and you'll get it on the dyno.
