I'm in the process of buying a 1989-1994 Nissan 240sx basically as a roller, and I'm going to rebuild it from the ground up. It's a huge build that I plan on taking months to complete (Slow and steady wins the race, right?). Amongst some of the goodies are:
Performance:
-Black top SR20DET engine/transmission swap (Found a place near me that does JDM imported engines)
-Aftermarket exhaust system
-Raceland Coilovers (Biased because I heard great things about them from the VW Jetta GLI which is currently my DD)
-Short throw shifter (Any good ones?)
-Not much here yet, but any ideas to fine tune the engine and other worthwhile mods would be greatly appreciated! (Like 7psi turbo to 15psi?)
Security:
-Looking to get a good alarm system. Can't find a good one with constant good reviews.
-Fuel Pump Kill Switch (Just in case someone gets in it without me knowing.
Cosmetics:
-Aftermarket body kit/M3 style spoiler/17inch Enkei rims
-Aftermarket headlights/tail lights (Not much of a market that I can find for them, however)
-Aftermarket front seats/Custom rear seat delete with 6.5" speakers installed
-Complete change of sound system to aftermarket
-Wanting to do something with the stock plastic pieces in the dash, such as painting them or vinyl wrapping of some sort
-7 Color LED Underglow (Call me rice but I've always loved the right looking underglow)
-7 Color Interior Glow (Yes, rice again, but c'mon. Girls always say, "Ohmigosh it's so cool!"
-Custom shift boot/shifter/possibly custom handbrake handle? (Unsure how to approach the handbrake custom boot)
-Aftermarket steering wheel
-A-Pillar gauge pod for Fuel, Oil, and Air Pressure
-Steering column gauge pod for Turbo
-Radio gauge pod for Water, Oil, and Transmission Temperature
-Completely custom paint job (But not using paint, rattle cans, etc. Check out Halo EFX)
The last part is what I need help on. I want to build a completely custom gauge cluster using GlowShift Tinted 7 Color Gauges. I already have all the gauges planned out, but what I'm trying to find is implementing blinkers in with it. Much like the stock gauge cluster, I want to have the arrows show up with my custom one. Same with the lights that come on the stock cluster, but moved around to my liking. It seems complicated, and if it can't be done, don't be afraid to tell me. I got all the time in the world to make this build happen, starting with the car. Should be in my possession in a matter of weeks, so until then, I'm sticking to this and the magical place called the Interwebs to keep me pumped for it.
Thanks for listening to what may be the intro to a great build thread in the coming months!
