i have called all the shops in the area and NOONE sells redline transmission fluids and i wanted to put that in when i reinstalled my transmission. im pretty sure its already in there. how bad would it be to drain the fluid and just put it back in? is that a bad idea? if any of you live in the dc area do you know where i can get some? i would get it online but the places i talked to were out and i want to do the project this weekend. also, how many quarts do i need?

Call up redline and ask for a distributor, it's usually something like Monument Autoparts.....check with them. DONT reuse the transmission fluid. You wouldnt think about reusing your old oil now would you?????

i use industrial strength gearbox oil in my transmission and lsd and it is amazing how much it made a difference! the lsd is actually cooler because of the expensive oil in it! its by some company called swepco, i kinda got the hook up on it. but please dont reuse that oil. take all the shift stuff off until you get to the actual transmisson and take those six bolts out and give er about 2 quarts, make sure to stick your nose down in there and smell the wonderful smell of a drained gearbox.

the transmission's drain plug should be right under the shifter, the oil pan should be near the passenger side. Fill the transmission fluid through the shifter

Dude, we're really miscommunicating....The transmission drain is right under the CENTER of the transmission. I think the bolts you refer to are the crossmember bolts. The drain plug is a big bolt that has a square hole into it. Just use a big socket wrench (1/2) and take it out. The one on the right side is the "proper" filler hole. Kinda hard to get out if you dont have a bunch of allenhead sockets..... just fill it through the shifter hole (2.5 - 2.8 quarts). Questions, just reply. I'm actually just finishing up my new clutch, so all this stuff is still fresh`!
