Finally saved up enough to get my project started. Looking to pick up a redtop front clip from japan star in Albany, NY. I will be renting a full size pickup and trailer to retrieve the clip.

I would just like to make sure I have the correct steps before purchasing the clip. I will def give the clip a visual inspection to ensure its condition, and that it contains all of the correct parts. Also have a compression test, and leak down if possible there on site. If they can start the clip as well I am sure that will be ideal.

Anything other tips, or items I should look out for prior to inspecting the engine, and purchasing?

Check the mileage and see if the supplier has any history on the motor. It can have 30000 miles on it, but is it a hard 30000? would be the right question sorta thing. I don't know if they can find out the history or not, just a thought is all cause I just bought a motor set. Instead of the clip.

Idk just give it a nice inspection is all you really can do. Take off the oil cap see if theres any sludge or anything. Check for broken wires, pieces, etc.

From the images I have seen it looks like it has been in a shop for the entire time.
