Any advice or recommendations of what I should be aware of with the 2008s? Any common failures or things I should be asking about?

Appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks!
Todd

I would check the drivers door seal as I have dragged my foot over mine and killed one. My seat would creek over bumps and had that fixed a few times. Tires I got 55k out of. I just got a 60k service done which they replaced all the fluids, wipers, cabin filter and a few other small stuff. $900. My brakes still have plenty left 10mm but my rotors have a small bend in them. I have a 2008 62k, but no major problems I have found to look out for. I really enjoy the truck. So maybe ask about its previous service and if your close to 60k maybe talk to them about that. I also got the extended warrenty from Infinity. I want to say I paid 2800 for it.

Welcome to NICOclub ToddPhilly! 2008 QX56 and newer is totally the way to go!!!! I had an '08 Armada LE loaded which is basically the same as the QX56, I now have a 2010 Armada. They made some very nice changes on the '08

I did experience the creaking of the driver's seat on my '08 and again on my 2010. It is a simple fix, the issue that is causing it is the tracks and shaft that the power seat slides on just needs to be lubricated. I have found the best thing to use is wheel bearing grease. Simply remove the 4 bolts holding the seat in place and apply the grease.

Watch out for the tires, if you are in snow/ice region, the stock Michelin Latitudes are terrible, I just replaced mine at about 25,000 miles but I have seen them still on '08's. They still had tread, but they would have sucked in the winter weather, and they were to the point they were terrible going around corners.......lot of squealing!

Other then that the vehicle is rock solid, EXTREMELY quiet. I have buddies with full size Chevy's and Fords, they have rattles and creaks.

Thanks for the the encouraging words!

Looking forward to getting the QX. Sounds like I should pretty much plan on replacing tires on the vehicle. Most of the ones I'm looking at have ~40K miles and still have original rubber.

Yeah, totally, original tires are terrible even at 20k, much worse at 40k especially in winter weather. They were actually horrible in snow and ice. I now have the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors, they are awesome. Nitto Terra Grappplers look good too but never tried them.

Let me know if you have any more questions!!!
