Theres one near my area with 100k miles for about 8000 dollars without any bargaining. Anything I should look out for when I check the car out? I seem to see the rear sag some members were talking about in the pics.

Is that a good price, 100k for 8k, are these cars reliable?

Thanks!

The Q is a highly dependent on electronics. '02s are getting to the age where their electronics are getting a little brittle. Take the car to an autoparts store and dump the codes, just remember disconnecting the battery will erase them. There is no substitute for a solid maintenace history and a thorough mechanic's inspection.

Some '02s are known to consume oil, maybe up to 1 quart every 1000-1500 miles.

That being said, you might fine this '02 worth looking at (even if just for a point of comparison). See the thread titled, "Too many cars to little space selling my 02 Q45 F50" in this forum.

Read all posts thru. the "rear sag" is factory. Take a tape measure and refer to the most recent discussion and the FSM page at end of post.
Any dealership can pull up the dealer maintanence/work done by the VIN.
much more info than carfax.
I have 230k on mine. It is a dream. also, w/ gas going up the 02 had a 2.78 rearend ratio, thw 03-06 had a 3.08. Read my posts about tire size 255/45/18 instead of 245/45/18. I get 27mpg on the road all the time

Thanks for all the responses guys, I will be checking the car out soon, then have my mech take a look. I am not really car inclined, but what does dumping the codes mean?

Also MCrews, I got your PM but it won't let me respond because I am a new member. Email would be best! [email protected]

Dumping the codes refers to displaying faults detected by the electronic control unit (ECU). Modern cars are controlled by their ECU that adjusts timing, fuel injection, and valve timing based upon sensors in the engine. If the ECU detects a set of reading out of the normal range or expected status as reported by a component, it stores a code in its internal memory to aid the mechanic in troubleshooting.

Dumping the codes is simply attaching a device that will download the stored codes. Some readers also have information about the codes stored in the reader. Others simply give you a number and you have to go to a manual to decode them.

SOLD!!! I went ahead with the www.autotrader.com "instant offer" program. Could not have been easier. They bought my car for $9422.78 Drove car to dealer, handed over keys took my plates and they drove me back to my office. HIGHLY recommend going this route.
