After collecting the parts i need for my SR swap i finally got the money to order it up. I dont want this to be another "who to order from" thread but im trying to decide where to get my motor from. (if that makes sense) lol I have $2200 to spend and i want an s13 blacktop motor set. I narrowed it down to a few places, panda garage, totaljdm, or zerolift. Can i here some opinions on these places? or any better spots within my price? I was thinking totaljdm or zerolift since there sponsors, and panda garage looks like a good spot..advice please?

What about http://www.srswap.com? They are local to you, I think.

Any local shops or anyone local selling a SR. With a purchase like this, I prefer being able to see the motor before I give up the money.

I've heard good things about Zerolift and Heavythrottle ofcourse. Whoever you go with, ask for compression test results and pictures of the engine before you pay.

does that include shipping? since it will be sent freight, usually shipping is not factored into the selling price. you might need to save up another couple hundred for that. i paid 265 for shipping to my door. (i went through heavy throttle)

i dont think shipping is included..i actually called totaljdm, zerolift, and heavythrottle they said they're all out of s13 blacktops so i have to wait for another shipment to come in. I even called royaljapanimports i heard some good things from them around my way and plus i paid a visit there before. they have a lot of jdm motors n parts but they were out of stock on the s13 blacktop as well. when i went there a few months back they had a redtop clip that also included, a 5-lug brake set up, strut bar, coils and a front mount..i asked how much the guy said 2300..i was like whaaat but i didnt have the money at the time.

well out of the 3 places none had s13 blacktops..but zerolift said they were getting a shipment in on thursday at 5 I called on friday morning they said it didnt come in yet..but def at 5 on friday. I asked if they could send compression tests, and pics of the motor that there gonna send me. The guy said sure but it will have to be on monday since he has to go threw all the motors. Im going to call back on Monday and get that done, hopefully they got the shipment in. So as of right now im going with zerolift. Any more suggestions or opinions?

Hey, I see you're from Long Island. I'm in Centereach actually.

When I was looking around for my S14 SR, I haven't had much luck with Zerolift, or TotalJDM. Their communication was not that great honestly. As always, HT was always great, but a little out of my price range.

I would strongly recommend looking into JHot. Their prices are great, and typically they come as full swaps, as in with intercoolers, fuel pump, possibly BOV and air filter. They wanted around $2400 shipped for an S14 SR, so an S13 SR should be less.

Speak to Gabe. I think his AIM name is jhotgabe.

If you have any questions, message me, VivekZ123.

Call JHot back on a weekday. They have two locations, Georgia and Texas.

Zerolift did not want to give me pictures of the engine I was going to recieve. They didn't give me compression test results either. When I finally got an email back, they sent me a generic picture right off their website, an they made excuses as to why they did that when I called back.

I would say I'm neutrla with TotalJDM. Wasn't helpful or even that interested in talking to me.

Trust me. Take your time becuase if something breaks or is missing, don't expect them to help you out. You have no idea. Once they have your money, they don't even acknowledge you. Even if they claim to warranty an engine, they can and will make excuses. This is first hand-experience talking...

Zerolift doesn't have their shipment in yet. we are waiting on them to let us know as soon as they get it, soon as they do we are rolling down there to see what they get in so we can pick up some engines for ourselves.
