Well i'm about to make my first 240 purchase and the guy is asking $3,000 for a 95 manual with 130k miles on it. I know that he will take $2500 for it, so I'm getting a great deal. My question is how do I tell if it has LSD if it's not an SE(which this one is not). I know someone said something about the abs, but I don't even know if it has that. How do I check? Are there any other factors that it would need to have for it have LSD?

Thanks

Look under the car from the rear. Look at the differential casing. If there's an orange sticker, then it has VLSD. If not, it's probably an open diff. If possible, lift the car on jacks so that the rear wheels are off the ground. Rotate one wheel, if the other wheel spins the same way, you have VLSD.

Is it worth buying it even if it doesn't have the vlsd? How much would it be to put one on there?

That seems like a good deal regardless. You should be able to get a VLSD off a few different model cars for less than $200.

I just got the VLSD out of a 240 for free, after I spent $600 on an auto to manual swap.

This site is where I learned everything about VLSD's: http://www.ka24development.com/vlsd.html

if it is an SE and it has ABS then it has an LSD...i think. But 2500 (even 3000) is a great price regardless I'd get it if I were you.

I appreciate the info guys. Yeah it's not an SE that's why I'm askin, but to me it is a really good deal, they are the second owners and it has been adult female driven and never wrecked. I'll let yall know how it goes.

Ok, well I drove the car and aside from the dead battery, bad breaks and unbalanced tires, it ran great. Engine sound good, transmission felt smooth and everything worked on it. Like I said, the car has 130K on it, and it has never been wrecked and adult female owned. I already have wheels for it(from my other car) and a break job will be all it needs, because the guy put a new battery in it. The paint is in awesome shape. Here's the thing, he just just the thing serviced(new spark plugs and wires, had the fuel tank dropped and had the fuel system cleaned out because the car had been sitting for a year. He said he will take 2500 for it, so is it still a good deal even though it has been sitting for so long?

BUY IT!

if you don't I will.

that's a very good price. Don't stress it sitting for a while...especially if the guy had the fuel system cleaned out.

BUY IT!
