turbo kits are few and brand new at this point, and of couse viods your warranty, the G37 has been out for over a year with no real issue, personally I don't like how high the 370 rides, almost as bad as a mustang

I disagree, there are several serious issues with the engine anddrivetrain. The 370 even overheated during two major mediareview tests. Multiple posts of 3.7 oil overheating and enginegoing into "limp" mode without warning from the cooling systemoverheating. Multiple posts of 3.7s in Zs, G's, Maximasand others siezing and having to be replaced.Multiple posted issues with the VVel control motorand mechanisms. Multiple posts of both auto and manualtransmission issues. Multiple posts of associated tickingand strange valve train noises. Not to mention that Nissanrecommends $12/QUART OIL to mask the valve train issues.Read all the posts on this site and "My G/Z' and other sites forTo say there are no real issues with the 3.7 is being ignorantof the high incidence of issues with the 3.7 and of the muchlower incidence of problems with other past and presentNissan products.

They've had a myriad of problems in the last 6-7 years. 04 Quests (everything), 04 Titans (brakes, trans, diffs, a/c issues), 02> Altima & Sentra (NVH issues, interior issues, QR25 issues in general) 03 Z's with excessive tire wear and transmission issues, Frontier front suspension stuff, etc. etc. etc.

You get that to varying degrees with any manufacturer, but yeah, does sound like the 3.7 folk have their hands full, too.

I had a '03 350-Z for 6 years, liked it very much but traded for a new 370, 4 months ago. The new 370 is better in every way. Handling, acceleration, brakes, refinement, and looks-in my opinion. The oil does run pretty hot, in my car ranging from 220 to 250 degrees with normal driving, not doing anything excessive. I had installed, a 25 row Setrab oil cooler with a 180 degree thermostat, end of issue, lowered the temps to 180 to 220 degrees! I love the new car, I think more that any car I've owned before, and I've had a bunch of them. I got the base model with the Sport package & added leather interior and the Stillen exhaust. Great car so far!

I love them but can't justify the price tag. What happened to Z's being the affordable sports car? Sticker is in lightly used Vette territory, which has a myriad of cheaper power upgrades. I have seen them as low as $36k but still, it's a V6 car.

I haven't driven one either though....I dunno.

I've said it before in a few threads...I love the contents (numbers) of the new Z but I hate the packaging (boomerang lights are a total turnoff for me), love the new interior except for the cluster (digital combi-gauge looks far too techy for the Z), I love the addition of a true cup holder. I wouldn't turn one down, but I'm not itching to go out and buy one either.

Yeah, who would pay $36K for 6 cylinders?

I would.

I guess I am completely screwed for life when it comes to buying a new car. I have literally spent a week trying to find something that I could live with and I just can't do it. Having mechanical aptitude is a downfall in this situation. I love my VH powered Z32 and have around $7-8k in it, including buying the car itself. A 370 would be a step backwards.

It sucks for me because when it comes down to it I would rather have $30k to throw into whatever I want instead of someone elses engineering. Make that $80k if we're talking about the GT-R. And yes, for $80k I could build my AWD Z and it would cruuuuuuush a GT-R around the Nurmeuemhamburgerernermeb...ring.

Sincerely,Jaded

It's only if you're really pushing the car to the ragged edge I think. Normal spirited driving, I think you'd be fine driving it. I personally like the new 370's. I'd get one if I could afford it, but I'll stick to my s30.

I would be interested to read up on your sources.

Thanks.
