ticking from the head should be fine. make sure it boosts fine and no sounds of leaks. do a compression test on it. in the factory service manual about 150 psi for each cyl is normal.

pull off the hotpipe, and check for oil inside the piping. also check for any leaks. Get under the car and take a look at stuff. Happy hunting
