about to buy a 240sx s13. need some advice

its a 90 240sx, power everything. sunroof, new midnight blue paint, 2% tint all the way around, 17 in rims ,new tires, cross drilled rotors. jdm tail lights since its a hatchback,body kit all the way around, looks very jdm like.

now the downside. 246,xxx miles millage on motor is unknownpaint is crackin on front bumper, 2 parts of paint has fallen of on the bumper due to so much paint and primer,valve cover is leaking oil, engine hesitates when u give it gas, motor and trans is stock ka24ehe wanted 3300 but i got him down to $2800

now is that a good deal? to me its i duno seems a bit high , i might wait or i might buy. havnt decided yet

Whats your style? Most people here will tell you to get something that runs better without a bunch of cosmetic mods on it. But everybody here is all about performance. And you should also throw pics so we can get an idea of the car.

it doesnt sound like that bad of a deal. you could easily pick up a new ka motor and transmission from someone who went sr for under 1k all day. you could also get a good paintjob for 1k, and then you have a pretty decent show car. im assuming thats what you want.

i say get it. rework the motor and you'll be in the clear. of course that will take extra cash. tell him 2500.

For all that sounds not too bad for 2500-2800...assuming the body is clean aside (and not hideous yuck) from the paint. The paint job is going to be expensive though as I'm guessing the guy got a cheap paint job. The motor can be found pretty easily. KA24E if you're looking for a replacement can be had for a few hundred bucks and ditto with the transmission assuming you don't want to get an SR20DET. I say do it.

i got my 92 coupe with 166,xxx for $2000, i think he's asking a little 2 much....maybe if he brings it down to $2500 or even lower, if u can...

wel i thought about it and talked to my freinds and my dad, my dad told me not to get it since its old and has over 200k miles , he said il be under the hood everyday just like i was with my mustang. my plan would be if i did get the car is to definetly drop a sr20det motor in it asap. since i do my own work it wil come out alot cheaper for me, my only cocern boutthe car is the miles. the car wouldnt be worth **** when i would go sell the car even with a sr20det motor. but other than that its basicly a show car now, he had a bunch of stereo **** in there, but i told him i didnt need it cause im not into that stuff,well thanx guys for yur advice, im just gonna wait for somethin else to come along with lesser miles
