I keep reading and seeing that on the 4 wheel steering Q45's that the stock wheel it should have are the turbine style, but mine has the "piepan"style, was the turbine style wheels just an option?

All 1994 touring models have the Super HICAS rear steering, and came from the factory with the BBS wheels. The other wheel used in 1994, was the clear coated "pie pans" bothe were 15", but the BBS wheels were much lighter, and 1/2" wider.

In 1995, the "pie pans" were replaced with the "turbine" style wheels.

Dealerships were notorious to put Fittipaldi wheels that looked similar to the BBS wheels. Lola came with chrome plated BBS wheels.

16" wheels were not normally used, and tires were few, and not many had the ratings needed for the Q. In 1997, when the second generation Q came out, 16" wheels became the standard. 17" tires were introduced in 1999, on the touring edition. 18" wheels were used on the 2002 models, now 19" wheels are used on the 2005 models.

1.) Bothe the turbine and BBS wheels on my 1995 standard and t models are 15x6.5.

2.) And continued on the 1996 standard model, as noted by Wes.

3.) The 16" wheel on the FY33 was introduced to clear the larger diameter rotor. Recalls were later issued for the 5 broad spoke 17" wheels. First with no lips for weights from Infiniti.

4.) Standard wheels were 17" with 18" optional in US Market. Japanese had only choice of 16" and 17" optional. 19" are only on the Sport model Y50. 19" forged Rays optional only in JDM Y50.

Yes, somewhere they were changed. Minor problem when you consider there are no good 15" performance tires for the G50 made anymore.

New wheels and tires in larger sizes as good as the BBS will set you back a pretty penny though.

My 94 Q45t and it came with the lace/basketweave design (like the old BBS). I'll check the sticker next time I go to the files.

Check out the Infiniti Cars & Parts forum. There were some BBS wheels for sale a while back. I sold mine.
