one of my friends bought one of the ssautochrome manifolds off of ebay and the welds were awful and the finish was tarnished and did not look as good as it looks in the picture. he had to take it to a welding shop to have one of the welds re-welded because it leaked. Maybe he just got a bad one, also the material is pretty thin.

Lots of their old stuff apparently sucks. Looks for them on Honda boards and DSMtalk.com. Their new stuff seems to be actually ok. Lots of guys use their stuff in Australia and the UK w/o problems. Several CA guys have their manis w/o problems, and with their new liftime warranty against cracking or warping, I think they will be ok. THe issue was, they were using mild steel, and everyone knows that is too soft to last long under the weight and heat of a turbo mani. Now, they use SUS303 and are of better design. I plan on getting an SSAutochrome turbo extension and equal length mani here in the next few weeks for my CA.

And a test mule is a test mule. If something goes bad, that is just a kink in the R&D chain. Accidents happen and all of that, so take some folks problems with a grain of salt I always say.

So the actual hks one doesn't fit in the american 240sx? Did you notice a difference with the trust one in performance when installed? Iam trying to decide if to go with hks or greddy. In super street I think they used the hks one and if fit fine, I am not a 100% sure though.

I wouldnt buy ssautochrome/obx on principal, all they do is rip designs from the companies who actually develope good products like Hotshot. After they have stolen the design, the have the part made cheaper because they dont pay a dime for R&D.

hey i'm working on a budget, if i can get the same thing for cheaper hell yeah, i'm all for it, but if the thing is a piece of **** then no thanx, i got my catback from ss auto chrome, besides the cheap *** muffer the 3" cat back was well made, and useable, and for half price, the people on the street is just going to have to deal with the sound the muffler makes, however turbo is something more important, so i would research their material before doing business with them, just give them a call
