sorry, guys i'm in my way of buying HKS cams and was wondering which is the saftest way to go. I dont want to get 272 because its it high i dont want to get 254 because its too low but i'm looking at 264 but i also dont want to change the velve springs. Is it safe to put 264 on stock springs and hoping that on the long run it wont hurt the springs. Also, which is the best way to get the cams. 254 on the intake and 264 on exhaust or 264 intake and exhuast? Who have put a 264 on stock springs please let me know and tell me if its safe or not thank you all.

You can get 264 stage 1's without changing springs. Trust me I have them.

The problem is, unless you can find them used, NO ONE has the step 1 264s in stock and they've been back ordered for about 6 months world wide. It seems HKS doesn't like to produce them or something. You can find the step 2s all day long but those require valvesprings and retainers.

You can pick up some JWT cams or Tomei cams that will drop right in, but they cost quite a bit more than the HKS units. I think the Tomei's were around $700 or $800 a pair.

Actually I can give you a site that has them. And yes you should be able to run 264s on stock springs without any issue.

Here's the site:http://projectnissan.com

Have you actually contacted them as of recently and tried to get a set or are you assuming they have them because they list them on their website.

it's the Rpms combined with the cams that would cause the springs to fail. If you are going to do it, do it right; cams, springs and retainers. Oh I forgot, SR. In that case lash killers, rocker stoppers a note from your doctor, sacrifice two chickens and never rev it past idle.

Actually checked stock on a set of stage 1's for a customer directly with HKS 2 days ago. They had 3 sets there.
