the stock rods will hold ur power, but who knows if reliably. There have been people that have taj=ken the stock rods(treated) to 500+ hp. There are people that have put a rod through their block at 260 hp. So it depends on tuning and the batch of rods? If ur gonna spend money, might as well get the rods for peace of mind. Wouldn't want all the investment to dgo down the drain because of 600 bucks. If u leave the head alone, that'd save u some money and put it to roids. And ur brnds would be crower, I hear is trhe most popular. Now keep in mind this is my opinion, as I'm sure that others will tell u to treat the rods and everything will be fine. Gotta make ur own choice here. btw, I'm not getting new rods until I reach 350 hp, but I will be gettiing them then.

Id say for reliabilty get it, I ended up throwing away mad $$$$$ because I saved a couple hundred on rods, stupidest mistake I ever made and now I freaking ended up with an SR20

Definitely spend the extra money on crowers or pauters...

I destroyed a freshly rebuilt engine with only 1000 miles on it at way less power than 350whp because of it...I think there have been plenty of examples of destroyed KA-Ts on these boards lately due to rod failure to make it stupid NOT to invest in rods.

I swear it's just ****ty luck or a random batch of bad rods I dunno.

Me personally I have ran the same rods for 3 years now. I dynoed 373whp at 23.4 psi. Immediately after the dyno I advanced the timing 7 degrees, added a new FMIC, and a 50 wet shot. So I know I am well over 400+rwhp on boost alone. My rods have never had a problem and I plan on taking them as close to 500whp as I can. So you can try it that way, or....not. It's really up to you. If you have the money, may as well buy rods. My motor is at 6,500 miles atm. I didn't "break it in" either. Just started it up and hit that baby with boost. Compression is fine as well. Different strokes I guess.

if you're going to invest so much money in other parts... like new pistons and various new expensive items.. i dont see the reason in why not doing the same for rods.added insurance.

or, just keep the bottom stock, then do valve jobs and just turbocharge it and save up for new rods/pistons/bearings/bolts.
