After reading fuzions post ive been too scared of ever getting an SR, RB, or Turboing the KA. But I still want to turbo my car one day, but I just want to do it legit. So I was wondering, is it possible to take a turbo kit from another car thats been Cali Carb certified and customize it to fit the KA? Other then that, the only other way I can think of is putting in a engine from a different car. But then it wouldnt really even be a 240 anymore. Just wondering if any of these ideas would work.

No, HKS does not. Currently Greddy is the only one that has some inkling of intention to make a CARB certified kit. Though, they have not released any kind of a time frame and they still seem to be stuck on maybe. But it does seem if they do it, it will be for the 96-98 models only. To make it legal for any other year, you would have to drop in a 96-98 KA(If your car is a CA emsisions model, it must be a CA emissions motor), most if not all of it's smog equipment, and get it certified by a BAR referree. Then, any CARB legal kit for the motor can be used.

But all this is dependent on Greddy getting the certification.

So this brings me back to my first question. Is it possible to customize an allready CARB legit kit and put it in a KA and still have it CARB legal.
