Im planning on getting my SR from them $2500, I already put down a deposit ($100 cheaper when done). I saw on there site that shipping was 250-300...but they told me 350-450. Im thinking its cuz its residential...isnt that kinda misleading?? Anyways, my question is: Would shipping normally be cheaper to a business than residential? and WHY?? If business is cheaper...would a community college address be considered a business address?? If so then Id like to do that and just transport home (my college will let me do that). Im not trying to make them sound bad but when they told me that price I immediately thought they were raising the price of shipping because I got the discount for prepaying. Inputs welcome. Thanks.

Think of a semi getting into small street, not possible due to trees and weight limits. So they got to use a smaller truck, which costs more.

yea delivering to a residential address always costs more. mainly because it is out of the way and you most likely will not have the machinary neccessary to unload the motor (forklift). It's just one of those things.

I deal with shipping all day at work. Normally when something is shipped to a res. it needs to be sent on a smaller truck with a liftgate. Your best bet is to see if they can ship it to the nearest temrinal, then you rent a u-haul and pikc it up yourself.

Normally, when people do this with motors I ship to them, they easily save $150.

If they haven't shipped it yet, I'm sure you can work something out to save on shipping. They don't make any money off shipping so it's not like they are being dishonest.

...I get people bitching all the time because shipping a couple hundred pounds isn't very cheap sometimes. Example I just shipped a $250 parts motor which costs them almost $250 to ship across the country to their house. What do I get to hear them tell me on the phone...

"That's bull****! The shipping is the same as the motor!!"

Phase2 just shipped out my S14 SR front clip last week, and it totalled to be about $450 shipped to my shop. According to Howard, with the rise in gas prices the past couple months, freight shipping has become more and more expensive. Would I have liked to have paid less for shipping? Sure. Do I trust and believe Howard and Phase2? You bet your *** I do, they're good people
