ok well my dads gettin all pissy bc he thinks by painting the inside of the headlights it cuts out light output. I told him well many cars have this BUT he actually noticed they were all projectors "surprised me bc he didnt even know what my strobes were lol". So my ? is DOES this cut out light output WHEN you DONT have projectors. And im hoping the answer is no bc if so i can show him the thread lol to make him get off my arse.

usually i do what i want to my car bc i pay for it BUT i can understand this to bc i dont want to cut light output.

as long as you don't paint the mirror faces projecting the light, you are fine

i seen some people paint that too unless you wanna do it just like dangeris who only painted the thingy majig i guess if you paint your reflectors too, you probably have to buy a gloss paint so it can reflect off that.. but the way dangeris did is pretty fine to me

What you dad says is somewhat true. As some of the other members said, if u paint the reflecters of the light, which is the chrome parts, it will decrease light output since we dont have projectors...I just got the front part of my headlights painted dark gray...i had black but it was too dark and the gray looks more OEM to me that is

Alright mister "king of lights"...

...unless you're rockin' projectors, NEVER paint your reflector bowl. I experimented with that on a spare set of lights a few years ago and it significantly cuts the amount of light thrown forward. I haven't yet come across a light manufacturer where the bowl itself wasn't easily removable so you shouldn't have to worry about carefully taping everything off.

As long as you leave the reflectors alone, you'll be fine. The rest of the chrome on the lamp housing is purely cosmetic and is in no way intended to help improve your own light output. It could, however, be considered a safety feature in that it's a highly reflective surface...but that would be nit-picking now wouldn't it? haha

As for your turn signal...that's entirely up to you. And boy, you'd better be ripping that fugly a** amber strip right outta there!!!

How's the light housing separation coming along?

Matt,

DO NOT PAINT THE REFLECTOR BOWLS Unless you are going to use projectors which uses it's own reflecting system, don't do it...or you will be sorry. Especially when it's so close to the Aug. show..

Yeah I agree as well, don't paint it unless you're going the projector route. Your light output will be cut drastically. You might as well drive in the dark with the DRLs on.
