is there any way i can tell what year my engine is.

its a Black top SR20det?help please, because i need an ECU and i need to make sure what year it is.

From there, it narrows down the years. You can check what turbo you have (if it is still stock). I believe there's a few other ways to tell too (looking for VCT, etc, which most don't have that are imported over here).

the guy i bought it from was a dumb a*&.i have a paper that says this for the turbo.

"turbo specs: injector size:370cc/mincompressor:t-25, 60 trim 56mm bci-1 compressor,turbine:t-25, 62 trim 53.8mm 0.64 a/r turbine housing."i hope this helps you help me.lol

okay, please dont bash me, im an amatuer at the whole 240 thing. and i dont really know what a lot of the terms are. what is the valve cover?sorry to sound so stupid.but i am reading tons of things here on nico and imslowly learning.lol

Valve cover is the black thing on the top of the motor that says "Nissan" and "Twin Cam 16 Valve".

And besides the hose clamp, you need some bolts for your coil pack cover (the silver plastic plate in the middle of the valve cover).

ok if my engine is an S14 and its a 96.what ECU would work on it. is there more that one that can fit it?

Any S14 ECU should work with an S14 SR, BTW.

Look @ the Comparison table which is basically near to the top of the page. There is only one type of blacktop w/ t-25...

If the picture you posted in the other thread is your engine, you don't have a T25....

to properly run the car you need another WC ECU....

you can not use an E5 or a 62 or a 60
