I took my broken compressor off the car 2 years ago, and never plugged any of the line that came from it. The have been open to the air and dirt for 2 years. I want to know if this is a major problem or if the refrigerant lines can be easily flushed by an AC shop.

Yes that will be one of the things you need done before getting your AC system up, a good rinse and flush, I just got done fixing my system, it was broke for 7 years, gave up after the d@#mn thing broke a second time. This time I decided to take matter into my own hands....I bought compressor in Ebay, valve expansion and R434 retro fit and dryer at local parts store. And with help from my local military craft auto shop, Now I have AC for about 300.00 dollars. Last time cost me 900.00 dollars. I even found out that last time they didnt replaced my expansion valve....very hard to do, the threads will frozen and the tubing is very delicate unless you want to buy a new condenser unit from ni$$an that includes condenser/valve in one unit.......

i thought the receiver/drier would be saturated in water after all that time exposed in the atmosphere, causing replacement of a new one when you're going to seal that system again...

anyone chime in on this & confirm?

Yes, my compressor stay on the system all these years and the dryer was completely clogged up with some scary green stuff, everytime you suspect compressor failure (99% of the time) as a minimum you should replace the dryer, compressor and expansion valve.......
