Hi folks,

Few weeks ago, I started a topic about a problem of the fuel level and I got the solution from my dealer. Because the tank in the AWD is in 2 parts, when you full your tank, when you get the first "pop", wait a few seconds (around 30s) and full again, you can put over 5 to 9 liters again. Since that, I never get problem about the missing level for the fuel level.

Funny story: I drove last week and get my computer flashing for my fuel, they said I have around 85km to go. I check my odometer to see what is my total. I drove again few km before getting the ----. I check again the total and I only did 20km, so technically, I get do around 50-60km.

So I decided to go to the gaz station and full my Rogue. What a suprise, I put 62L in my tank...I check the manual and it's a approx 60L tank. So finally, it more like a 65-67L tank we have if I consider that fuel left in my tank before I go to the gaz station ... or can be wrong if the fuel sensor get a 60km range error!!!!

Koolyce,

There have been many threads about fuel tank size/gauge errors.

Pescakl, myself, and several others have found the fuel tank can hold as much as 65+ litres when completely empty.

I usually put about 68 liters in the rogue tank when I fill it up.

And you also run your Rogue down to the last tablespoon full of gas before filling up!

I just filled up today, I drove 25km on 1 bar, and got a total of 675kms on this tank. when I fill up I put it up to when I can see the gas at the top, and today I filled up 65L.Just to add me 2 cents.

Yeah, it is from the almost empty tank (no more square) to the top (seeing the gas in the opening) .

I think you cannot put more than 68.5 liters in this tank.

Old topic, sorry to bring it up.Yesterday I went to the states to do some shopping. On my way home, I knew I had enough to get to my parents, but I was down on my last bar. After visiting my parents, I started the Rogue and notice no bars. I did make it to the gas station with no problems, and when I filled up, I put in 69.5 liters. I know its not right to go right to the end of the tank like that, but just wondering if anyone has been able to put anymore that 70 liters??

WOW, you even broke pescakl's record... and he is the champ at squeezing every last tablespoon of gas.

I don't think anyone has ever gotten more fuel into the tank on one fill up. I usually average 60-63L when one bar is showing. I would never dream of pushing it that far.

Wow, interesting. That means I could possibly go more than 1000kms with one full tank?I never went past 68.5 liters because the sale guy told me than when you lose the last bar, you really need to find a gas station (less than 20 kms to go). So, he is a coward as there seems to be one more liter left in the tank. When I had a Renault in Europe, I was able to put more than 45 liters in a 43 liters tank, so yes, with all the tubing, you may be able to put close to 70 liters if you were really close to empty.

Hurry up summer, I have a test to do, a record to break.

I may buy a jug of fuel to put in the cargo... just in case .

I will admit, I did not like the feeling of not know how much gas I had left, and I usually do not even come close to getting that low on gas. However, the gas station was only a couple of kms away so I was not too worried. Now Pescakl1, how in the world are you getting close to 1000kms a tank?Even going that far to the bottom of the tank I was only able to get 600km on that tank. I never did remember how much I was getting when the Rogue was new, looking over old posts on this thread I can see I was able to get 675km. I could never get that anymore and the Rogue only has 17500km on it. But regardless I am very happy with it, and so is my wife.

Not only is Pescakl1 the king of using every last drop, but those drops are used very efficiently.

Now I feel like a coward, I think the most I've ever managed to put in is 66L.

OK, I had time to research the thread on the gas mileage: Page 9, beginning of June, I did 922 kms with 66.6 liters of fuel. Only with that information, that means 950 kms with a tank of fuel is possible. If it is possible to put almost 70 liters like you said, then the 1000 kms mark should be achievable if conditions are good (Summer, mild winds, 30 to 40 minutes commute, no traffic jams).Like I wrote, without traffic jams, I can achieve between 6.5 and 6.9 LHK, bringing the car at about 1000 kms with one tank.

Now, how to achieve that: Always easy on gas, never above 2000 rpms (I cruise at 100 KPH on highways), even easier on gas until the engine is slightly warm (the first 5 minutes with no more than 1700 rpms, letting the car getting speed more than trying to speed), inflated tires at 43 psi (side wall limit is 45), look far in advance to anticipate any change on the road (road itself or other cars), try to not use the brakes.

To explain the last two info, I usually never brake when I use an highway exit or even an entry to the highway. I judge what speed I have to have to take it and lift the gas pedal to achieve that. The problem when a dumbo overtakes me just to brake hard in front of me because he is just capable of going fast in straight line, not in curbs. Rogue has a good handling so you can go in turns quite fast, even too fast if I miscalculated and still turn without using the brakes. Braking is wasting fuel in heat, not in forward movement.Yes, it takes some practice, and that could be exhausting if you push it to the limit because it keeps your mind busy all the time, but I find it quite fun to do (keep me occupied in the car). I used to go fast with cars but age and speed tickets made me trade speed with fuel consumption challenge. It is just another way of having fun (I am not a good racing driver anyway).

Have fun and report back, everyone can achieve at least 8 LHK or 28 mpg with not that much effort, just change a little bit his habits and more anticipation.
