Just got some goodies from Joe today. Plan to replace Back brakes this weekend...is there anything to do different from doing front ones? I did those in march w/ all your help. I glanced in the box and noticed a small spring and some sort of "tube". I don't remember those two things included w/ the front brakes...what are they for??

On which parts (all) do i apply brake grease? All the clips and shims? Both sides or which side?i may not have greased the front ones adequately since the sqweek when i'm slowing down. I'm going to re-do / resit them this wknd as well...i can do that right??THanks guys

The little thingy with the spring is the brake sensor. It is mounted on the passenger side. Your car may not have one. They stopped putting them on some time in 1994 or 1995. The rear discs have drums for the emergency brakes. Be sure not to set the emergency brake before you remove them. You really don't have to remove the rotors to replace the brakes, anyway. Put a little grease goes between the stainless steel shims and the brake pads, to eliminate vibration (squeak). It is a good idea to take a wire brush to clean off the gunk from all the brake parts. Be doubly sure to put the caliper grease on the pins after you clean them completely. Don't just take one pin out and swing the caliper out of the way on the other pin, because it needs to be cleaned and re-greased.
