I have a question about where this thing attached to my exhaust manifold goes after I put a aftermarket cold air intake on. I never see anyone's car with it. There is also two little vacuum lines that attach to it also as well as a a little plug, but I assume that plugs into the MAF.

Thanks in advance for your help

i believe that plastic thing is the egr pump not sure but i know it has something to do with emissions there should be a metal pipe coming from like around the back of the motor under the exhaust manifold. Idk how to hook it up cause i just ripped mine out and plugged the pipe. I think that those two vac lines depending on how small they are go on the intake mani under the intake piping.

you can search the tech articles and look for emissions removal and just do the opposite if you wanna hook it back up

It is parts to your air injection system.

thats where it goes...lol

its to add some fresh air back into the exhaust to lower nox emissions, they get plugged up and have no effect on performance.called the P.A.I.R, Pulsed Air Injection R...?

u can disconnect it and plug up all lines, unless emissions is mandatory. then u will have to get and adapter for your cold air intake and a similar setup for the exhaust.

btw that was the first thing i tossed out of my car.

Thanks for the info guys. I need to be able to pass emissions in Pennsylvania but I should be able to without this piece of s***. I built myself a custom Cat to go in place of the test pipe that handles up to 6.0L engines.

Thanks man. I used to make Catalytic Converter Direct fit units for all types of cars. I looked in their catalog and knew right away that that unit would not fit any 240 lol. So I made my own custom with High Flow Substrate =).

Yea dude dont worry about it. It just adds clean air to the outgoing exhaust for efficient emissions.

Thanks for the input giga. Would the O2 test still be passable? What result would I get if I took the EGR valve off as well? I know it is for emissons but my question is would I pass?

the pulse air is to heat up the cat faster. you can pass with out it, but may fail a visual(pending on your area) o2 will still function, no egr will raise nox considerably

Thanks Wc. I will leave the EGR on. My cat should heat up just fine. The pores in the substrate are 30% larger.

Yea just make sure your area doesn't do visual inspections. I know where I live they don't do visuals. I removed mine last year and it past okay.
