It snowed in Chicagoland over Xmas. I had some fun with the J. If you don't spin the wheels the J will creep along alright even with crappy tires. Turning on a dime with the LSD on a snow covered side street is cool.:D Just the right touch and you can spin the J30 with ease and total control. The ABS system is cool, too. The trick is to find out how when the ABS activates and then operate the car in such a fashion as to not cross the the activation threshold. It makes you anticipate much reaction time/distance you need for the prevailing conditions.

The ease at which I began to control the differential made me curious about how it actually works. I came across this informative site: http://www.twelve100.com/faq%2...1.htm It appears the J30 has 4 pinions but does anybody know how many clutches are in it's LSD?

I guess that turned out to be a trick question since the J30's LSD is viscous.

vimy, i havent had the J out in the snow this year, but last year i barrels of fun with the J30 on the snow and ice. It is a really easily controlled car once you know it well. Nothing beats our VLSD for contol on the street and fun in elements.
