ab valve?!

hey guys. can't find an ab valve anywhere but i found a diverter valve. are these two one and the same? thanks!

AB valves don't divert anything, and they are not related to the Air Injection system.
I don't think anyone would confuse them.

Diverter valves are part of air injection systems, and divert the output of the air injection pump to the atmosphere.
Anti Backfire valves merely let air into the exhaust to counteract the large amount of fuel that can be present on deceleration.

my diverter valve arrived last thursday and i have now plugged all the leaks. including one diaphragm (that drove me nuts) from the charcoal canister. the rubber had a hairline crack which i repaired with a thin smear of rtv. prior to that i squeezed some rtv on oiled wax paper, let it cure overnight and then i soaked it overnight in a jar with half acetone and half gasoline. nothing happened to it after 24 hours. it did not turn to mush... nor did it disintegrate so i used it to repair the diaphragm and it seems to be holding up. anyway this post is about the diverter valve i ordered from rockauto.

for those looking for an ab valve... rockauto lists it as a diverter valve. the nissan part no. is 14835 u6701.

i was told by the parts dealership in my town that the valve is also known as:

1. anti backfire valve
2. ab valve
3. air bypass valve
4. diverter valve

the item i ordered said "fuel pump" on the label but had nissan and the nissan part no. stamped on it. go figure.
